Plug the AC line cord of theappliance directly into a 120V AC 60Hz outlet and turn theAC power switch on. Any current measured must not exceedo.5mA.ANY MEASUREMENTS NOT WITHIN THE LIMITSOUTLINED ABOVE ARE INDICATIVE OF APOTENTIAL SHOCK HAZARD AND MUST BECORRECTED BEFORE RETURNING THE APPLIANCETO THE CUSTOMER.DeviceundertestTest allexposed metalsurfacesAlso test withplug reversed(Using AC adapterplug as required)AC Leakage TestLeakagecurrenttesterReading shouldnot be above0.5mAEarthgroundFRONT PANEL CONTROLS 5?Main Power Switch: Press this button toapply power to the AVR.When the switch ispressed in, the unit is placed in a Standbymode, as indicated by the orange LED 2.Thisbutton MUST be pressed in to operate the unit.To turn the unit off completely and prevent theuse of the remote control, this switch should bepressed until it pops out from the front panelso that the word “OFF” may be read at the topof the switch.NOTE:This switch is normally left in the “ON”position.1System Power Control:When the MainPower Switch?is “ON,” press this button toturn on the AVR; press it again to turn the unitoff (to Standby). Note that the PowerIndicator2will turn blue when the unit is on.2Power Indicator:This LED will be illumi-nated in orange when the unit is in the Standbymode to signal that the unit is ready to beturned on.When the unit is in operation, theindicator will turn blue.3Headphone Jack:This jack may be used tolisten to the AVRs output through a pair ofheadphones. Be certain that the headphoneshave a standard 6.3 mm stereo phone plug.Note that the speakers will automatically beturned off when the headphones are connected.4Digital Optical 3 Input: Connect the opti-cal digital audio output of an audio or video prod-uct to this jack. When the Input is not in use, becertain to keep the plastic cap installed to avoiddust contamination that might degrade future performance.5Speaker/Channel Input Indicators:Theseindicators are multipurpose, indicating either thespeaker type selected for each channel or theincoming data-signal configuration. The left,cen-ter,right,right surround and left surround speakerindicators are composed of three boxes, while thesubwoofer is a single box.The center box lightswhen a “Small”speaker is selected, and the twoouter boxes light when “Large”speakers areselected. When none of the boxes are lit for thecenter, surround or subwoofer channels, nospeaker has been selected for that position.(Seepage 16 for more information on configuringspeakers.) The letters inside each of the centerboxes display active input channels. For standardanalog inputs, only the L and R will light,indicat-ing a stereo input. When a digital source is play-ing,the indicators will light to display the chan-nels begin received at the digital input. When theletters flash, the digital input has been interrupt-ed.(See page 20 for more information on theChannel Indicators).Front Panel Controls?123 4 56 7 8 9A B C D E F G H I J Main Power SwitchSystem Power ControlPower IndicatorHeadphone JackDigital Optical 3 InputSpeaker/Channel Input IndicatorSurround Mode Group SelectorTuningTuner Band SelectorPreset Stations SelectorInput Source SelectorRDS Select ButtonSurround Mode SelectorSurround Mode IndicatorsRemote Sensor WindowMain Information DisplayDigital Coax 3 InputVideo 3 input jacksVolume ControlInput Indicators167G9DFIJC8BL24A5E3DIGITALLOGIC 7VID 1DVDCDFMAMTAPEVID 2VID 3PRO LOGIC 3 STEREO DSP5 CH.
