SERVICE MODE2-1. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE OF SERVICE MODE1. As loading related operations will be performed regardlessof the SERVICE MODE operations being performed, be sureto check that the disc is stopped before setting and remov-ing it. Even if the EJECT switch is slid while the disc isrotating during continuous playback, etc., the disc will notstop rotating. Therefore, it will be ejected while rotating. Besure to slide the EJECT switch after pressing the STOPbutton and the rotation of disc is stopped.2.The erasing-protection tab is not detected in the SERVICEMODE. Therefore, when operating in the recording laseremission mode and pressing the REC button, the recordedcontents will be erased regardless of the position of thetab. When using a disc that is not to be erased in the SER-VICE MODE, be careful not to ENTER the continuous re-cording mode and traverse adjustment mode.2-1-1. PRECAUTIONS FOR USE OF OPTICAL PICK-UPAs the laser diode in the optical pick-up is easily damaged bystatic electricity, solder the laser tap of the flexible board whenusing it.Before disconnecting the connector, de-solder first. Beforeconnecting the connector, be careful not to remove the sol-der. Also take adequate measures to prevent-damage by staticelectricity. Handle the flexible board with care as it breakseasily.3-3.
