They allow multiple RAVE units to operate together on a network, and several models also convert unshielded twisted pair media (TX) to and from multi-mode opti- cal fiber (FX), for long distance transmission up to 2 kilometers. Seven different models offer unique combinations of UTP and fiber optic ports on a common chassis, maximizing network design flexibility, minimizing cabling and rack space, and cutting the need for separate media converters.
